Key Features and Functions
- Paperless System: Eliminates physical paperwork, allowing producers to submit applications, upload supporting documents, and pay fees via the Bharatkosh portal online.
- Real-time Tracking: Provides a dashboard for both producers and CBFC officials to track the progress of an application in real-time with automated SMS/email alerts.
- Short Film Submissions: For films under 10 minutes (promos/trailers), producers can submit the entire creation online for examination without visiting a theatre or office.
- Accessibility Standards: Since September 2024, the portal includes a module for mandatory accessibility features (like closed captioning and audio descriptions) for the hearing and visually impaired.
- QR Code Verification: All certificates generated through the system feature a QR code, which allows the public and exhibitors to verify the authenticity of the certificate and view details like cuts or age ratings.
- Perpetual Validity: Aligned with the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 2024, certificates issued via the portal are now valid for a lifetime (perpetuity), removing the old 10-year renewal requirement.
