Why in news?
Sanjha Shakti is a recent joint Military-Civil Fusion exercise conducted by the Indian Army to enhance coordination between military and civilian agencies during emergencies and security challenges. The exercise aimed to improve interoperability, communication protocols, rapid response mechanisms, and decision-making through realistic scenarios like disaster response and public safety operations. 
 

About Exercise Sanjha Shakti
  • Organizer: Indian Army, Southern Command (Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa Area).
  • Location: Dighi Hills Range, Khadki Military Station, Pune.
  • Participants: Over 350 personnel from the Indian Army and 16 civilian agencies, including Maharashtra Police, Force One commandos, and fire departments.
Objectives
  • Civil–Military Synergy: Enhance cooperation between the Army and civil agencies.
  • Rapid Response: Improve preparedness for emergencies like terror attacks, natural disasters, or urban crises.
  • Interoperability: Test communication protocols, decision-making processes, and joint standard operating procedures.
  • Public Safety: Ensure coordinated action to safeguard citizens during evolving threats.
