- DHRUV64 uses open-source RISC-V architecture, fabricated on a 28nm node, with superscalar execution, out-of-order processing, and built-in communication functions for enhanced efficiency and multitasking.
- It supports seamless integration with external hardware, making it ideal for 5G infrastructure, automotive systems, consumer electronics, industrial automation, and IoT applications.Γ’β¬βΉ
Strategic Importance
- Launched under the Digital India RISC-V (DIR-V) Programme by MeitY, DHRUV64 advances Aatmanirbhar Bharat by reducing reliance on imported chips, as India consumes about 20% of global microprocessors.
- It enables startups, academia, and industry to prototype indigenous systems cost-effectively, accelerating development of follow-on processors like Dhanush and Dhanush+.Γ’β¬βΉ
Development Context
