BHIM 3.0
BHIM 3.0 is the latest, upgraded version of the Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) app, launched by NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), in March 2025. This major update introduces advanced money management tools and enhanced features for both users and merchants to compete with private UPI players like Google Pay and PhonePe.

- Family Mode: This feature enables a group of users to manage a shared pool of expenses and payments, simplifying household or group finances .
- Spend Analytics: BHIM 3.0 includes tools for users to track and analyze their spending patterns across different categories, helping with budgeting and financial planning.
- Bill Alerts: The app now provides alerts and reminders for pending utility or other bills, ensuring timely payments.
- Personalized Suggestions: The app offers personalized payment suggestions and reminders based on user habits and location.
- Enhanced Accessibility: The new version includes enhanced support for multiple Indian languages and is optimized to work more reliably in low network connectivity areas, promoting financial inclusion across the country.
Merchant and Technical Features
BHIM 3.0 also brought innovations for the merchant ecosystem and improved underlying technology:
- BHIM Vega: This new service facilitates seamless in-app payments, making it easier for merchants to integrate UPI payments directly into their own applications.
- Improved Competitiveness: These updates aim to boost the competitiveness and usage of the official government-backed UPI app against private sector offerings like Google Pay and PhonePe.
