The India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF) 2025, the fifth edition of India's multi-stakeholder platform on internet policy modeled after the UN IGF, concluded on November 28, 2025, in New Delhi after two days of discussions.
Theme and Sub-Themes
Theme: “Advancing Internet Governance for an Inclusive and Sustainable Viksit Bharat.”
- Inclusive Digital Future (bridging digital divide for underserved areas).
- Digital Infrastructure for Resilient and Sustainable Growth.
- AI for People, Planet and Progress (safe, responsible AI use).
Purpose
Promotes open dialogue on internet direction, policy frameworks, and actionable recommendations for India's digital ecosystem. Organized by MeitY and NIXI, it aligns with Viksit Bharat goals.
About IIGF
- India Internet Governance Forum is India's national chapter of the UN Internet Governance Forum, launched in 2021 to enable multi-stakeholder discussions on internet policy issues.
- It involves equal representation from government, industry, civil society, academia, and technical communities, managed by a 14-member committee.
