Why in news?
The Delhi government is developing the Delhi Asset Management Information System (DAMIS), a software platform to create a comprehensive digital inventory of all immovable government assets, including land plots owned by various departments and agencies.β
About
- Maps plots with GPS coordinates, GIS references, shape, and road connectivity details.β
- Tracks asset details: Khasra number, civic body zone, ownership type (freehold, leased), land use per Master Plan.β
- Records encumbrance status (litigation, free), proposed development plans, and building specifics (plinth area, construction year).β
- Data submission from departments like PWD, Delhi Jal Board; compiled by IT Department into software.β
- Enable quick planning for infrastructure like schools, hospitals, offices, and parking by identifying available assets.β
- Identify encroachments, their types (e.g., slums, homeless settlements), and duration for better oversight.β
- Support IT reforms for transparent, accountable governance through digital asset inventory.β
