Nationwide Cloud and AI Skilling Initiative
Why in News?
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), partnered with Cultus Education and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to officially launch a Nationwide Cloud and AI Skilling Initiative.
Objectives
- Democratising Education: Ensuring that technical upskilling opportunities are not restricted by geographic barriers or socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Viksit Bharat Vision: Aligning with the government's mandate of creating an inclusive, future-ready workforce for a developed India.
- Employer Alignment: Tackling structural unemployment by matching regional youth with direct employer networks.
Two-Tiered Training Model & Course Curriculum
- Foundational Literacy: Providing 1.5 lakh (150,000) learners with self-paced foundational courses in AI and cloud basics via official AWS digital content.
- Intensive Program: Enrolling 10,000 selected candidates into the advanced, 12-week instructor-led AWS re/Start program.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Essential knowledge about servers, cloud-based data storage, and network systems.
- Core Coding & Security: Dedicated modules covering security practices, basic programming, and relational databases.
- AI Fundamentals: Applied knowledge regarding artificial intelligence and machine learning pipelines.
Delivery Model & Target Audience
- 100% Online: The entire project will be administered digitally by Cultus Education, bypassing the need for physical relocation.
- Tier-2 and Tier-3 Focus: Explicitly designed to benefit small-town youth and underserved regional communities across all Indian States and Union Territories.
- Global Certifications: Graduates completing the rigorous path will earn official, industry-recognised AWS Certifications.
- Direct Interviews: The AWS re/Start cohort model automatically connects certified individuals with hiring pipelines at local tech organizations.
- National Hackathon: The training culminates in a massive nationwide hackathon where participants present built solutions directly to IT sector hiring managers.
