e-Sushrut@Clinic is prominently in the news because Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda officially launched this lightweight, cloud-based Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) in New Delhi.
Objective & Targeting
- Primary Focus: Functions as a simplified, Software as a Service (SaaS) tool built specifically for small outpatient clinics, primary health centres (PHCs), sub-centres, and standalone labs.
- Digitising Workflows: Automates vital frontline medical tasks, primarily patient registration, digital billing, nursing workflows, and pharmacy operations.
- Target Users: Tailored for general practitioners, specialists, small clinic administrators, pharmacists, and laboratory technicians.
Technical Structure & Indigenous Design
- The Developers: Brainchild of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), representing a lighter, agile version of their flagship e-Sushrut software deployed at 17 AIIMS campuses.
- Onboarding & Registries: Built to allow instant mobile or laptop registration through the Health Facility Registry (HFR) and Health Professionals Registry (HPR).
- Advanced Interface Tools: Packed with modern clinical features, including speech-to-text documentation for swift prescription writing and comprehensive reporting dashboards.
- Offline Functionality: Operates seamlessly under standard online modes but maintains robust offline functionality to ensure undisrupted clinic operations during connectivity drops.
ABDM Integration & Free Clinical Aids
- Full Ecosystem Alignment: Fully enabled across Milestones M1–M4 of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), promoting the generation of interoperable health records nationwide.
- Free Decision Support (CDSS): Features integrated access to the AIIMS Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) for chronic ailments like diabetes and hypertension. This specialized care module is embedded completely free of charge.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adheres to global and local technical benchmarks, including HL7 and Metadata and Data Standards (MDDS), ensuring smooth and legal data exchange between varying medical systems.
Highly Subsidised Pricing Matrix
- Baseline Commercial Cost: Structured at a highly affordable standard rate of βΉ499 per month for up to five active users.
- Government Subsidy: To incentivize massive pan-India adoption, the National Health Authority (NHA) gives a three-month free trial, followed by a permanent βΉ200 monthly discount.
- Effective Price: The continuous operational cost drops to an effective rate of just βΉ299 per month, significantly undercutting private alternatives.
