Divyangjan Kaushal Yojana and Divyangjan Sahara Yojana (also referred to as Divyang Sahara Yojana) are two new central government schemes announced for persons with disabilities (Divyangjan) in India. Recently highlights their focus on industry-linked training and advanced tech aids, building on existing programs like PM Divyasha Kendras.
 

About
  • Announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2026-27 (presented February 2026), aligning with the "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" vision for inclusive growth.
  • Aim to address skill gaps, employment barriers, and access to assistive devices amid India's large Divyangjan population facing education, job, and mobility challenges.
Divyangjan Kaushal Yojana
  • Targets skill training for Divyangjan to enable "dignified livelihood opportunities" via industry-relevant, customized programs tailored to disability groups.
  • Covers sectors like IT, Animation-Visual Effects-Gaming-Comics (AVGC), hospitality, and food/beverage services, emphasizing task-oriented, adaptable roles.
  • Allocation: β‚Ή200 crore for FY 2026-27; focuses on employability, formal jobs, and entrepreneurship through aligned training modules.​
Divyang Sahara Yojana
  • Supports Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) to boost production of high-quality, affordable assistive devices using AI and advanced tech.
  • Strengthens PM Divyasha Kendras and establishes Assistive Technology Marts as retail-style centers for Divyangjan/seniors to try and buy aids.​
  • Allocation: β‚Ή100 crore for FY 2026-27; promotes independence via R&D, scaled manufacturing, and better access.
Significance
